For those of us working traditional Monday through Friday, 9-5 jobs….we’ve made it.
We survived a week of repetitive tasks, masking our true identities, and concealing our real reactions. So now, my Prims, its time to unwind, relax, and let loose. So here are the top 5 things I hope to accomplish within the next 48 hours and I hope you can accomplish some of these awesome feats this weekend as well!
A Girls’, or Boys’, Night Out!!

After a week’s worth of chaotic boredom, we all need one night out with friends or family. The secret to an amazing night out is a new experience. This weekend’s new experience will be the Caribbean Celebration at the Embassy of the Bahamas (click for more info and tickets)! Tomorrow, my beautiful and equally smart and talented sister and I will step on Bahamian soil for an incredible cultural event and celebration. The Embassy of the Commonwealth of the Bahamas, located in Washington, D.C., will deliver the Spirit of Nassau and Paradise in a special cultural event filled with music, dance, food, and fun! This, of course will lead me to #2 on my list….
Great Food!
As a self-proclaimed Foodie, I live for trying new foods and giving my palate foodgasms. Yes. Foodgasms. And because my sister, Amber, knows me so well, she has arranged two opportunities to enjoy great food experiences. The first will be at the Caribbean Celebration mentioned above. This cultural event boasts of authentic Bahamian food, such as, Bahamian conch fritters, curried chicken, rice and beans, and pineapple upside-down cake. Sunday’s late-lunch will consist of visiting Eggspectation. With only six locations in the U.S.,

this restaurant also promises to surpass your “eggspectation” with an impressive menu ranging from Lobster Benedict and Smoked Salmon Omelet for breakfast to Lamb Lollipops and J’egg’balaya pasta for dinner.
Alcohol, please.
As responsible adults, we should try to avoid harmful substances at all costs. Right? Well, guess what? Alcohol has some health benefits, so drink responsibly!
Dancing, or Something Resembling Movements Coordinated with Music.

Okay, so I’m not a dancer. I mean, I do okay, but I’m no Beyoncé. I think that genetic predisposition skipped a generation. I do look forward to listening to the live steel drum and Bahamian/Caribbean style music, though. Hopefully, drinking to my health will solve my lack of rhythm!
Sleep.
If I’m not managing life, I’m thinking. If I’m not thinking, I’m sleeping, and even while sleeping, I’m still thinking. Nothing resets the brain like a good, uninterrupted sleep. After completing 3 assignments, working, taking care of my family, practices and extracurricular activities, and doctor’s appointments, I’m pooped. For those of us with kids, there’s really nothing too special with the weekend. We still are awaken by an annoying alarm clock called children, we’re still responsible for keeping tiny humans alive, there’s no real break. This weekend I challenge you to do as I will do. Sleep in. I know it’s easier said than done, but if you put in extra effort on Saturday with family activities and physical activity, you may be able to sleep in 30 extra minutes Sunday morning. The goal is to wear them down before they wear you down. Good luck!!
What are your plans for this weekend?
